Five more

Five new pieces made today, do let me know what you think:

  • Waltz #1, a short treatment of a theme that could become the Count's offscreen waltz.
  • Waltz #2, a longer treatment of a waltz theme, note how the second pair of hands appears halfway through, does this convey what we need with that scene referring to the Count and Lady Croom?
  • Thomasina plays badly, from me remembering a C. P. E. Bach theme I played badly as a wee lad
  • Chaos to Classic #1, in which the aforementioned C. P. E. Bach theme emerges from chaos.
  • Classic to Chaos #1, in which the aforementioned C. P. E. Bach theme descends into chaos.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for these. Here are my thoughts:

#1&2 -- I am no musicologist, but at first listen these sounded sort of modern to me, a little "pop," like a modern movie soundtrack. I don't know how to make them sound more 1800s, but you might have better ideas than I.

Also, for #2, just for ease of calling the cue, can the 4 hands start right at the beginning?

#3 - This is perfect.

#4&5 -- Unfortunately, my description on the cue sheet was too vague, but hopefully it's relatively easy fix. By "chaos," I wasn't actually referring to total dissonance, but the deconstructed music that Gus plays in the other three wonderful sections you've already done. So the classical themes of the 1800s give way to the modern age, and vice verse. I hope that makes more sense? I am difficult to reach at the moment, but I will try to call tomorrow to make sure this is clear.

Thanks so much!
